Welcome to Aptera.nu! This is the Aptera promotion website of Sies Stadhouders; Automotive engineer, environmental impact analyst and official Aptera Ambassador from the Netherlands. I have created this page because I was searching for a way to promote a vehicle I strongly believe in, using my own words. I’m very much a technical and rational person and therefore you’ll find my website and blog articles are based on my own analyses on why Aptera makes a lot of sense.
If you have come to this website without knowing what Aptera is, here’s a short description:
Aptera is a lightweight, super aerodynamic and affordable solar electric vehicle. It is so efficient that it uses 2.5 times less energy per mile than the next best thing, a Tesla Model 3. It needs a smaller battery pack, less electricity needs to be generated for it to run and with its integrated solar cells, you will probably only need to plug in to charge a few times per year. That makes it cheaper to buy, cheaper to run and much more friendly for the environment than your average EV. The lightweight construction in combination with the potent electric motors also makes it accelerate very fast! Since it won’t rust, is built to last and is upgradeable in the future, Aptera is a vehicle you can expect to give to your grandchildren one day. Sounds great, right?
Aptera is currently in the late stage of their development phase, having produced multiple prototypes and having received well over 40,000 preorders worldwide. Their development process consists of 4 series of prototypes. The Alpha was a demonstration prototype, to generate hype and show what the intentions are. Beta was used as an incomplete vehicle to optimize the suspension and Gamma is the first fully functional vehicle, close to production intent. Delta will be the production intent vehicle, built with production tooling. It will be used for validation testing and should be very similar to the actual production vehicles.
Aptera has largely frozen its design and now has suppliers working on producing production tooling. Simultaneously, they’re looking for more funding to be able to start series production this year.
Delivery of the first production vehicles is expected Q1 2024, if funding goals are met. European deliveries will follow shortly. I’m in the front of the line of preorders, so I’ll be one of the first owners in Europe. If you’re interested in buying one, you can use my referral link to claim your place in line for a fully refundable $70 (normal price is $100; the discount will be visible at checkout).
I will try to keep information as up to date as possible, but always refer the good people at Aptera if you want to be 100% sure about the latest status.
I hope you’ll enjoy this website and help me keep it up to date. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
